Madison County Summer 2020 Virtual Programming

Boys & Girls Clubs of Tabula Rasa Madison County summer programming will be held virtually for the summer of 2020.

  • During summer programming we will focus on the change from the normal summer programming that our youth and family members are accustomed to by the following:

    • Engage youths in meaningful explorations, investigations, and/or sense making.

    • Encourage them to engage in activities that the can do in their homes with materials that families might already have and/or pick up materials the club will provide.

    • Invite family members to participate in youths learning and engage in virtual events

    • Provide youths with choices for how they engage, what they investigate, or how they demonstrate learning.

    • Provide youths and families with educational packets and materials to participate in certain activities.

    • Provide an online digital point store where youths can earn rewards for participation.

  • Create and maintain a virtual programming tab with content on Club website

  • Activities will cover grant objectives and lesson plans will be provided for academic enrichment.

  • Have content/activity packages and materials for pickup or drop off locations.

  • Conduct phone calls to parents and youth.

  • A virtual schedule will be posted and sent out to parents & members with activity times and links. This will support a flexible scheduling and limited technology access for some members.

  • Teachers will be available for summer school students for homework help and conduct academic enrichment activities that will include:

    • English/Language Arts

    • Math

    • Science (experiments and labs)

  • Teachers and aides will engage with small groups of students online via Zoom and WhatsApp to conduct academic enrichment activities.
